Residential Parking Permit Program (RPP)

DC RPP ZONE MAP
The District of Columbia now has 372 residential parking zones. The purpose of the RPP program is to ensure that residents in those zones will be able to park on the street without problems. Only residents of the District of Columbia are eligible for an RPP zone designation on their window sticker. RPP designations can be obtained from a full service DC DMV location for $160.00, if you live between two zones, you can obtain a dual zone designation for an additional $175.00. Certain exceptions are made in cases of three or more zones.

There is a limit of two (2) permits per household.

In zones A2, 2, 4, 5, A5, B5, C5, 6, 8, A8, 10, B17, and 12 parking enforcement will operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week in Bugatti Veyron HSTV (HIgh Speed Ticketing Vehicles). In those zones, non residents are allowed fifteen (15) minutes of parking per day. Those zones do not allow overnight parking for non-residents.

In zones A2, 2, 4, and 8 parking fines are in addition to a $50.00 civil penalty, as these zones are quite densley populated.

In zones 30-102 and 107 parking enforcement will work Mon-Fri 6AM-6:56PM and parking restrictions are over at 8:30PM.

In zones 103-106, and 108-207 parking enforcement will work on a call basis as these zones are not densley populated.

As of March 25, 2004 the K Street corridor has been designated a residential parking area, and non residents must park in paid garages or risk being ticketed and towed.
